Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, often referred to as IASTM, is a modern evolution of the ancient Chinese practice of gua sha scraping.
Firm pressure is applied to these handy tools (aka instruments) as they move across the skin in a scraping fashion to break up and mobilize scar tissue and adhesions.
IASTM tools are like a hairbrush - they comb the 'knots' out of soft tissue. Like a shank bit vs. a snaffle, these tools provide leverage and can reach deeper muscles without as much effort and strain on the therapist's fingers and hands.

Curve
The curve is my favorite for warming up and assessing areas. This tool is the most versatile as it can easily treat large and small muscle groups. I often use the curve on every area of the horse.
Long Bar
The long bar is my go to for tight and braced backs and hind ends, especially hamstrings, as it easily softens these dense areas.
Tongue Depressor
The tongue depressor is little-yet-mighty and a wonderful tool for mobilizing the jaw, TMJ, cervical spine and ribs.
Tendonitis Tool
The tendonitis tool alleviates fascial pain instantly. This unique tool is my go to for painful and sensitive areas, as well as scraping the tendons of the legs.
